((Please listen up, everyone!  This is something important that I've been thinking about for two years ever since I became a Yami fan.  Even if you're not a Yami fan, I recommend that you read this because it has to do with the plot from the anime, manga, and RP group, so it'll affect your characters!  Normally, I include as many canon seasons as I can in the RP's plot.  That means Series Zero, Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, Noa's Virtual World, DOMA (Waking the Dragons), the KC Grand Prix (Grand Championship), Capsule Monsters, the Yu-Gi-Oh! movies, Yu-Gi-Oh! R, the GX seasons, etc happened at the RP group.  However, I'm not sure what to do about the events that occurred in season 5 Millennium World (Dawn of the Duel).

If we say the events of Millennium World happened, then Yami would know who Mana, Mahad, Thief King Bakura, and the other Ancient Egyptians are.  However, it would also mean that Yami would not even be here since he leaves at the end of Yu-Gi-Oh!

On the other hand, if we say that the events from the final season did not take place, it would mean that Yami is unaware of who the Ancient Egyptians are (unless he met them in the RP's plot).  However, the problem with this is that we would not be respecting what happened in the canon season since we'd be remaking a new season 5.

I've been trying to figure out a solution to this problem for a long time now.  Some people have given the solution that we could say Yami came back in the RP.  That could work since it would happen after the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! DM.  However, there's also a big problem with this solution.  Yami would normally have all his memories if he were to return, but he does not have his memories at the RP.  I love that Yami is unaware of what his past is because it gives me plenty of ideas for drama and plots!  For example, a bad guy could say that he'll tell the Pharaoh what his name is if Yami wins a duel.  Or another bad guy could kidnap one of Yami's friends and promise to give the friend back only if Yami gives the Puzzle.  I love drama like that, but it could not happen if Yami already had his memories.

Basically, the solution must include three things:
Millennium World (Dawn of the Duel) is canon, so we cannot remake/edit it in our RP group unless we find a logical explanation to redo those events.
Yami needs to be at the RP group, or else I'd be losing my character and I obviously don't want to lose him.
Yami must not have his ancient memories because it's easier for me to come up with plot ideas when he's amnesic.

One solution could be that Yami comes back and loses his memories again.  Several other RPers have redone things from the anime like that, such as how Li made Dark Dartz come back or how Cheyenne made Saiou's dark side return, despite the fact they were already defeated in the anime.  However, I feel like making Yami come back amnesic again would be kind of repetitive, so I came up with an even better solution.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time, Sugoroku (Yuugi's grandpa) and Pegasus died, but then Yuusei and Juudai made everyone go back to the past, so Sugoroku and Pegasus were alive again.  In other words, Yuusei and Juudai were able to erase events that had happened!  We can say that Millennium World already occurred in our RP group and that Yami was gone, but Yuugi missed Yami so much that destiny brought everyone back in the past to when Yami was still here, which would explain why Yami is still here in the RP's plot!  It would also explain why Yami is still oblivious to who Mana, Thief King Bakura, and the others are!

In addition, in Millennium World, Yami Yuugi and Yami Bakura played a Dark RPG (Shadow RPG in the dub) where they controlled game pieces to show what happened during Atem's reign.  Some of Bakura's items were sand hourglasses, including one that could rewind time and another that could pause time.  Bakura said in episode 211 that he could rewrite history thanks to these hourglasses.  Since Bakura has the ability to control time and is the biggest antagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh! DM, we could also say that Bakura found a way to return from the dead after the Yu-Gi-Oh! ending and he reversed time to get another chance at defeating the Pharaoh at the RP!

It's also important for me to say that as a huge fan of Yuugi and Yami, I absolutely despise the Yu-Gi-Oh! ending.  I literally have SO MUCH to say about the ending that it would take a huge, separate journal in order for me to say everything I want to say, but for now I'll simply say that I hate it because it was extremely rushed, there was very little love in it, and Yami still needed to complete certain things.  Yuugi and Yami are very close friends, so they should have shown FAR more love and emotion at the end.  In addition, a lot of Marik fans and Bakura fans dislike Yami because they say he never apologized for how much Marik and Thief King Bakura suffered.  Even though Yami is not directly responsible for the Tomb Keeper's initiation or the massacre of Kul Elna, I also believe he should have shown more compassion to them.  Therefore, having Yami be at the RP gives me the opportunity to show that he can have compassion for what Marik and Bakura went through.  I believe Yami can be a kindhearted Pharaoh based off of how he behaved in Waking the Dragons, which is mainly how I model Yami at the RP because I adore how he was so sensitive and caring in that season. Obviously I'm not referring to when he was harsh during his first duel against Rafael.  I also know he was ruthless to Haga, which was wrong.  However, I'm referring to how Yami cried later on and even worried over the possibility of having been a bad pharaoh.  Unfortunately, someone once told me that Yami was OOC in Waking the Dragons because he was way too sensitive in comparison to how tough he was in Series Zero.  It is true that Yami was very different, especially considering the fact that Waking the Dragons was never written by Kazuki Takahashi himself in the manga.  However, I adore how sweet Yami was in Waking the Dragons and how he had so much love for Yuugi because it shows that (1) the separation between Yami and Yuugi at the end of Yu-Gi-Oh! should have been far more emotional and (2) Yami should have been able to show compassion to Marik and Bakura.  Actually, some people have told me that they love my Yami at the RP because of this, which makes me very happy as an RPer! :happycry:

I have WAY more to say about the ending because I'm a very deep thinker, especially since Yu-Gi-Oh! is such a huge part of my life and I'm extremely disappointed and hurt by the horrid ending.  However, I won't go in too much details about it here because the main point of this journal is to provide an explanation on how we're including the events of Millennium World in our RP group and how Yami is still here.  I plan on posting a separate journal someday on my thoughts about the ending.

Anyway, please let me know your thoughts on this and whether or not you think my solution is good.  I'd love to hear what you all have to say, especially since this affects the RP's whole plot and your characters!  In case you're worried about how this would affect our RPing, please do not worry because we would continue RPing the same way we have!  The point of this journal is to provide an explanation for how Millennium World and our RP's plot go together because I like it when things make sense. :)))

(( I think whatever you chose is great, I understand not knowing the people of his past is necessary, but it's soooo sad! :( Yami will never truly know Mana!
It's okay though, the solutions are well thought out and I agree anything that we chose will be good  Thanks so much for keeping us in the loop of things! :D ))
