(( Happy New Year, everyone!!! I hope you'll all have a great year 2012!
I became a big Yu-Gi-Oh! fan ten years ago in 2002 when I was 16 years old, which means 2012 is special because it's been a decade that I've loved YGO!
To celebrate this, I want to do a Big Yu-Gi-Oh! Collaboration
and my goal is to bring all kinds of YGO artists together to make one, big fan art picture!
Incase you don't know what I'm talking about, look at these collabs:
As you can see, many different artists contributed their art pieces to make one big picture! Helen
and I actually drew Kirbies for the Massive Kirby Collab!
One big aspect of YGO and deviantART is teamwork
, which is what big collabs are about.
For the YGO collab, I'd like to include Yami and Yuugi~ Why Yami and Yuugi?
They're the main characters of YGO, so I'm thinking of doing my first big collab about them. If this collab is successful, I'll probably do others in the future with different characters, such as the Kaiba brothers, Haga and Ryuuzaki, etc.
Yami and Yuugi are popular characters and have many fans, so there's a lot of fan art of them. They're also two of my favorite YGO characters! So, here's what you have to do if you are interested in entering this big YGO collab!
Please pass this on!!! I recommend faving this journal and telling your friends and watchers about it!
Any deviantART member is invited to participate, including basic members, subscribed members, seniors, volunteers, etc! The more people who enter, the better!
There is currently no limit to how many art pieces you can submit, so you can do more than one!
You can draw Yami or Yuugi individually, but it's preferred if you draw them both. Use a transparent background, but you can make the background white if you don't know how to make it transparent. You can choose the style of art, so it can be like in the anime, realistic, chibi, digital, traditional, drawings, pixel art, emoticons, etc.
You can submit an old art piece even if it does not have a transparent/blank background as long as Yuugi and Yami are drawn in full and there is nothing in front of them, which will permit me to remove the background. Here is an example: [link]
You can choose which relationship that Yuugi and Yami are in. They can be best friends or lovers (Puzzleshipping).
You can use other resources such as bases, textures, stock images, etc, but you must follow the terms and conditions of the original providers of those resources. You also have to credit them by mentioning that you used their resources.
I consider Yami and Pharaoh Atem to be the same person because they are NOT two different people in the manga/anime. Therefore, when I say the name Yami, I'm also referring to Atem. You can draw Yami in his Egyptian clothes, in Yuugi's school uniform, or even an outfit of your choice. The same goes for Yuugi, so you can also choose his outfit. In addition, you can choose to draw them from Series Zero, Series DM, or even your own version of them, and you can choose how their poses will be like. Please draw them from head to foot, which means head shots will not
be accepted. Also, add color!
I don't think I can accept uncolored submissions. It's preferred if you make Yami and Yuugi the same colors as in the manga/anime, but you can make them different colors if you want.
You can collaborate with another person. For example, you can do the drawing while a friend can color it, or vice versa. If you do a collaboration, please mention it in your comments.
Gender bending is allowed, so you can make Yami and Yuugi females.
Yami and Yuugi do not have to be drawn as humans, so you can draw them as dragons, animals, mermen, etc.
Artistic nudity is allowed because I love artistic nudes.
Some people are probably going to say that artistic nudity is only for adults, but I've appreciated the human body ever since I was little, so it's possible for even children to enjoy this type of art. In addition, it's possible to appreciate a body without
seeing it as a sexual object. Censoring also annoys me enormously, so I prefer that there be NO censoring for artistic nudity. After all, since it's okay for heads and hands to be uncensored, then it should also be okay for breasts and penises to be uncensored. Basically, I feel like censoring ruins the point of artistic nudity. However, since society is so perverted and many people have trouble seeing certain body parts as innocent
, it'll probably cause problems to allow artistic nudity for this big YGO collab. Therefore, the idea of artistic nudity will probably be removed if those problems occur, but that'll make me sad.
Pornography and art theft are prohibited
. You are not
allowed to steal someone else's artwork and claim it as your own because art theft is wrong!
You can either make a new drawing or choose an old picture that you already drew a long time ago. However, it has to be good art! If you draw a crappy doodle done in five minutes, it won't be accepted!
Send your contribution to me in a note at ~BrotherlyFluff
. BAWWW!! I CAN'T DRAW YUUGI AND YAMI! THEY'RE TOO HARD TO DRAW AND I FAIL FOREVEERRRR!!!
A lot of people have trouble drawing them, so you can check out these wonderful tutorials below!
You can find more tutorials if you search on Google. There are different ways to draw characters, so try experimenting to see which way is easiest for you. And remember that practice helps, so draw draw draw to get better! The deadline is December 31, 2013!
When all the participants will have sent in their contributions, I will add all the Yamis and Yuugis and make it look awesome! I also still need to figure out how the background
will look like. At this point, I'm not even sure what will be in the background. xD However, I'm thinking it'll probably be something related to Ancient Egypt, the Millennium Puzzle, or something that relates to Yuugi and Yami. If you're interested in doing the background, please let me know!
Yami and Yuugi are not that
hard to draw, so stop whining.
XDDSooooo, START DRAWING AND LET'S SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WE CAN GET TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS BIG YU-GI-OH! COLLABORATION!! The contributions can be seen at [link] !
I hope this collab will be a success and thank you in advance to all who will participate!! Also, please spread the word!!! Thank you!!
